Novelist Michael Crighton ("Andromeda Strain") wrote and directed this cut-above-B movie about Delos, a future Disneyland that comes down with a digital flu (an early exploration of computer viruses) and all hell breaks loose. The fantasy environments, populated by life-like androids (choose from ancient Rome, medieval Europe, or the wild west) become killing fields as the guests are picked off by runaway robotics. Yul Brynner stars as a bad-ass gunslingin' droid who has it in for virtual "white hat" Richard Benjamin. Decent acting and some neat f/x transcend the obviously skimpy budget.
