Morrison loves to play with words in a fashion not unlike Lewis Carroll, William Burroughs, or Robert Anton Wilson, and he plays with images just as well. He has a band of misfit heroes who deal with threats too odd for others to notice, threats like the Brotherhood of Dada, The Men From N.O.W.H.E.R.E. (every sentence they speak has exactly seven words and each word starts with exactly those same seven letters), a living telecommunications system that inhabits the depths of the Pentagon, and a dozen more oddities. The heroes consist of a brain inside a robot body, a woman with a hundred personalities (each exhibiting a different paranormal ability), and a hermaphroditic energy being.
