Terminator

The future has come to L.A., and boy, is it pissed!

Some 30 years from now, SkyNet, a bad computer, achieves consciousness. That's the good news. The bad news is that it is in charge of the nuclear defense of the United States. The humans try to pull the plug and SkyNet acts to defend itself by launching World War III. In the war's aftermath, it starts a campaign to wipe out the remnants of humanity.

A rebel leader rises among the humans, John Conner. In fact, Conner and his group are on the verge of winning this lopsided war. To protect itself, SkyNet sends one of its hunter/cyborgs (a "Terminator," played by the just-act-natural Arnold Schwarzenegger) back in time to kill Conner's mother before she ever gives birth to John. (Ah, don't ya just love those time travel plots?)

The humans counter this move by sending back one of their soldiers to protect Mother Conner. The conflict that follows makes for an enjoyable action film with much mayhem and few laughs. The best thing about this Terminator is that it set the stage for its overpowering sequel Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

Here is the TEXT POPUP for Terminator...

The Terminator is an infiltration unit, part man/part machine. Underneath it's a hyper-alloy combat chassis, micro-processor controlled, fully armored, very tough. But, outside it's living human tissue -- flesh, skin, hair, blood -- grown for the cyborgs...The 600-series had rubber skin, we spotted them easy, but these are new, they look human -- sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. I had to wait 'til he moved on you before I could zero in.
