The real tragedy in all of this is how relatively easy many of these steps would be to implement, if we had the collective will to do so.<\/p>\n<p> Step 1: Harness the Wind<br \/> Turbines are getting stronger, lighter, bigger<br \/> Step 2: End Gridlock<br \/> Make power where we use it<br \/> Step 3: Rev Up Our Hybrid Rides<br \/> Ultralight parts and a plug could double America&#8217;s mileage<br \/> Step 4: Brew Better Ethanol&#8217;<br \/> Step 5: Switch on the Sun Lamp<br \/> Step 6: Go H2<br \/> Step 7: Ride the Waves for Watts<br \/> A sea change, indeed, with tidal turbines and generators<br \/> Step 8: Dig Deeper<br \/> We can now mine hotspots in more places<br \/> Step 9: Make Gas from Trash<br \/> Heat + waste = power<br \/> Step 10: Use &#8220;Negawatts&#8221;<br \/> Nice: saving money.
